Mindgard Wins Cyber Innovation Prize

We are thrilled to share that Mindgard took centre stage at Infosecurity Europe 2024, winning the highly esteemed ‘UK’s Most Innovative Cyber SME’ award. This prestigious accolade recognises the revolutionary work being done at Mindgard in the sphere of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity.

Founded in 2022, within the halls of Lancaster University, Mindgard has been pushing boundaries in the AI security domain. Its free online tool, 'Mindgard AI Security Labs', is an outstanding innovation which enables engineers to evaluate cyber risks and threats to AI systems.

In an age where enterprises are rapidly incorporating AI for competitive gains, the need for potent security measures has skyrocketed. Conventional security tools often fall short in addressing emerging attack vectors inherent in AI. Additionally, the complexity of detecting these risks, coupled with the scarcity of specific skills, leaves a gaping hole in AI security. Mindgard’s AI Security Labs aims to bridge this gap with its automated threat discovery process.

The platform provides robust, repeatable AI security testing and reliable risk assessment in a matter of minutes. This means that engineers are able to select from a range of attacks against popular AI models, datasets and frameworks to assess potential vulnerabilities. The results provide a comprehensive understanding of various AI threats and the likelihood of evasion, IP theft, data leakage, and model copying threats.

CEO of Mindgard, Dr Peter Garraghan, expressed his gratitude on winning the award, saying, "We are thrilled to have been recognised for this award which is a testament to the understanding of the importance of AI and how AI adoption has been received by the UK market.

“AI security is very in vogue and organisations are frantically trying to get AI out the door without considering the security repercussions and potential ramifications that may come alongside. This is the gap we aim to fill."

The win at Infosecurity Europe 2024 adds to Mindgard’s growing reputation and cements its position among other industry trailblazers. It's a testament to the persistent effort on the part of the entire Mindgard team to challenge the status quo and strive for excellence in the field of cybersecurity.

Mindgard joins an impressive list of past winners including ANGOKA (2023), TryHackMe (2022), CAPSLOCK (2021), Hack the Box (2019), KETS Quantum Security (2018), Check Recipient (now trading as Tessian) (2017), Device Authority (2016) and Geolang (2015).

Once again, we’d like to say congratulations to Mindgard on this well-deserved victory!
